Paris 2008: World Premiere of BlueTDI label
At the 2008 Paris Motor Show Volkswagen will show its new BlueTDI engine label that meets the stringent Euro 6 emissions rating which comes to effect in 2014.
Thanks to technologies such as SCR, AdBlue and Common Rail the BlueTDI has a fuel consumption that is 0.6L better than the current 2.0 TDI; in the Passat Variant it gets 5.5 l/100 km (144 g/km CO2) and the Passat Sedan gets 5.2 l/100 km (139 g/km CO2).
The engine has 143hp (105kW) and is optioned with DSG or 6 speed manual.
Expect BlueTDI to hit the market in 2009.
